Joe's diabetic anniversary is January 10, 2006. It is usually a difficult date. As we were discussing the diagnosis and hospital stay this year Joe became more upset than he ever has in the past. He said he just realized that he has now had diabetes longer than he can remember. What a devastating realization for any child. He then said that he did not remember life without diabetes. At that moment I promised Joe that would do something to help find a cure. I told Joe that I would raise $50,000 for the JDRF "Fund A Cure" program and that he could present it at the Annual JDRF Dream Gala in October. I want to celebrate my 50th birthday by raising $50,000 for JDRF! JDRF has made huge strides in helping everyone with T1D, and I want to see them succeed in their ultimate goal of curing type 1 diabetes! With your help, I can achieve my goal and help my son and the millions of others living with T1D! JDRF is a good charity and is ranked in the top five most efficient groups by Forbes Magazine.
